Windscreen Repairs
A windscreen chip can quickly spread into a crack if left untreated. Many of the windscreens that Service 8® replaces today are the result of an untreated stone chip.
Service 8® Windscreen replacement has a repair first policy. These means we will always try to repair your windscreen rather than replace. This not only saves you time and money, but it also saves the environment due to less windscreens ending up as landfill.
Service 8® offers a convenient mobile windscreen repair service that can come to your home or office. That's right, we come to you at no extra charge. Gold Coast, Brisbane and Townsville.
Windscreen chips are from $99.00, that's half the price of the guys on TV. Whats more if you get a cheaper windscreen repair price we want to know, there is good chance we can beat it.
So what happens when we repair a windscreen? Service 8® uses a system that injects a special windscreen repair resin into the chip on your windshield. Once the chip has been filled with resin, the resin is then cured by UV light.
Once cured, the windscreen will be restored back to full strength and the chip will no longer be vulnerable to spreading. Its important to note that the windscreen chip will still be slightly visible. This is because the chip is actually still there, just less visible due to the resin injection. This is a typical result from all windscreen repairers.
What size chips can be repaired on your windscreen? Generally speaking sizes up to the size of a 50 cent coin can be repaired to good standard.
On the other hand if you are having a stone chip repaired for a road worthy certificate then you should refer to the document on this page regarding windscreen standards for Australia.
The pdf document in the link includes NSW standards for windscreen chips, windscreen cracks and windscreen tinting.
